Rotary Needs Doers, Not Fault-Finders

In service organizations, the real difference between people is attitude. Attitude determines whether challenges become obstacles or opportunities.

A positive mindset accepts challenges, contributes ideas, and works toward solutions. Rotary’s fight against polio is a powerful example. Despite immense obstacles—geographical barriers, skepticism, conflict zones, and resource limitations—Rotarians around the world chose a positive attitude. What once seemed like stumbling blocks were transformed into stepping stones through commitment, collaboration, and unwavering belief in the cause.

A negative mindset, on the other hand, focuses on faults and excuses. Instead of strengthening service efforts, it weakens momentum by highlighting problems without taking responsibility for solutions.

Rotary is an organization of action. It needs doers, not fault-finders. Polio teaches us that when attitude is right, even the biggest challenges can be overcome. Service moves forward only when we step up, not when we stand back and criticize.
