A  Piece of My Heart

People often ask why I spend so much time in prayer. The truth is, it’s not about a specific time of day — it’s about a feeling deep within me.

When I pray, something inside me heals. Prayer clears my mind, purifies my soul, and gently turns my anger into kindness and my hurt into love. It’s where my heart becomes lighter and my spirit feels understood.

Most of all, prayer is my way of saying thank you to that Higher Power who has always held me, guided me, and shaped me into who I am today. Even in moments I didn’t understand, I was never alone — and I still feel that divine presence walking with me every day.

My prayers may not follow a schedule, but they follow my heart.
This is simply my way of connecting… of feeling… of being grateful.

Proud to be part of Rotary—where service becomes action and impact becomes real. From the global fight to end polio, to bringing clean water to villages, supporting children’s education, empowering women, promoting peace, and saving children with the gift of life through paediatric heart surgeries and medical assistance—every project reflects our commitment to doing good in the world.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

One of the sad things about life is that people often don’t live by the values they talk about. There’s a big gap between what we say and what we actually do. Many of us are divided inside—we believe in good things, but we don’t always act in good ways.

We proudly talk about fairness, honesty, peace, and justice. But in real life, we often do the opposite. We say we believe in democracy, but sometimes we act in unfair or controlling ways. We speak about wanting peace, yet we prepare for war. We ask for justice, but still do things that are unjust.

This difference between what we should do and what we actually do is a painful struggle that many people face throughout their lives.

True Peace: The Journey from Within to the World

Peace is not simply the absence of conflict, worry, or hardship. These are part of life. Nor is peace found in silent tensions or uneasy truces — such moments are temporary and fragile.

True peace begins within. It is the ability to remain calm in chaos, to stay rooted in values during storms, and to act with compassion even when provoked.

It grows when we live with integrity, detach from ego, accept what we cannot change, and choose love over resentment.

As children grow, the bond with their father quietly fades. He’s remembered more for responsibilities than for love. Over time, the home he built becomes unfamiliar — his laughter absent from the noise, his presence unnoticed.

Unlike mothers, fathers are rarely embraced with the same warmth. Calls go to the mother; updates reach him secondhand. He watches life move on from the corner of a quiet room, surrounded by memories.

In the end, a father often lives — and leaves — in silence. Giving everything, expecting nothing.

Isn’t that the unspoken truth of a father’s life?

If there’s one thing I’ll never apologize for, it’s the love I gave freely and the kindness I offered without hesitation. No matter how things turned out—whether people stayed or left, cherished it or walked away without looking back—I don’t regret a single bit of it.

Even when they hurt me. Even when they never gave that love back.

Because I know, in those moments, they needed it. Maybe they didn’t say it. Maybe they didn’t know how to show it. But I believe it made a difference—even if only for a fleeting second.

Love, real love, isn’t wasted. Not even when it goes unreturned. Not even when it fades sooner than I hoped. It still has weight. It still has meaning.

And I won’t regret being someone who led with their heart. That’s who I am. That’s who I’ve always been. That’s who I’ll continue to be.

Maybe the love didn’t stay with them forever—but it met them where they were. It reached them when they needed it most.

And for me, that’s more than enough.

Rotary & Rotaract: Empowering Future Leaders

The collaboration between Rotary and Rotaract offers college students a platform to develop leadership skills, engage in meaningful service, and cultivate a sense of purpose and integrity. Rotaract, as Rotary’s youth movement, comprises nearly 9,000 clubs and 120,000 members across 189 countries, serving as a dynamic space for young adults to grow as leaders and contribute to their communities .

Through joint projects and initiatives, Rotary clubs provide mentorship to Rotaractors, guiding them in their personal and professional development. This partnership not only enhances the impact of service projects but also prepares Rotaractors for future leadership roles within Rotary. By fostering leadership and community engagement, both organizations cultivate a generation ready to make a global impact, strengthening service efforts and paving the way for increased membership as young leaders transition into Rotary .

In Rotary—and in life—honesty and integrity aren’t just values, they’re essentials. They build trust, define character, and guide meaningful service.

Forever Grateful to Rotary 

Joining Rotary was one of the best decisions of my life.

It gave me the platform to fight polio in India — forming the Rotary Muslim Ulema Council to break resistance and help make India polio-free. It empowered me to contribute to pediatric heart surgeries, cervical cancer prevention, and more — and it continues to open doors to new ways of serving.

As an engineer, I’ve found purpose beyond profession. And along this journey, I’ve gained hundreds of friendships across borders — all united by the spirit of Service Above Self.

There is still so much more to do, and Rotary remains the most powerful way I know to keep making a difference — with passion, with purpose, and with people who care.

Keep Trying, and Trust in Time

Keep trying, and leave the rest to time. There is a divine order to everything — even when you can’t see it yet.

Clear the darkness from your mind. Let go of doubt, fear, and past regrets. Connect with hope, and hold courage in your heart. These are your guiding lights.

Don’t be afraid of life’s exams — whether they come in the form of challenges, people, or circumstances. They are not punishments, but paths to growth. Each one is shaping you for something greater.

Our hearts are shattered by the horrifying tragedy that unfolded in Pahalgam. Twenty-eight innocent tourists, each carrying dreams, laughter, and the love of life, were mercilessly massacred in an act of unimaginable cruelty. These were people who came to experience beauty and peace—only to have their lives stolen in a moment of senseless violence.

This is not just an attack on individuals; it is an assault on humanity itself. It’s a sobering reminder of how fragile peace can be and how important it is to protect it. The brutality of this act strikes at the very core of human dignity and compassion. No cause, no ideology, can ever justify such inhumanity.

I sincerely hope that the President will choose to prioritize diplomacy and collaboration over conflict, restoring peace and prosperity for all. Such efforts would undoubtedly be embraced by world leaders, and more importantly, by the people who are most affected.

Strengthening Rotary starts with inclusivity, with creating a space where every voice is heard, and every person is valued. It begins with honest relationships—relationships where we listen deeply, support unconditionally, and uplift one another relentlessly. Another invaluable piece of wisdom was to seek out the person who can effortlessly make you smile, even when you’re buried under the weight of sorrow, offering lightness when everything feels heavy. But, above all, the most important advice of all was to find someone who possesses the rare and remarkable ability to turn life’s messiest, most fragile moments into something beautiful — someone who knows exactly how to help you rebuild, to inspire hope, and to remind you that even when you feel like you’re falling apart, there is always a way forward.
