Life is not an easy journey but is coupled with many difficulties. For such difficulties we need to thank God. If it was all soft and easy, we wouldn’t be tested, tried, forged in the fire of life. We wouldn’t grow or learn or change or have a chance to rise above ourselves. But for the challenges we face, we would never become stronger. Only dead fish swim with the stream. If you are truly alive, you need to swim against the tide, much like the salmon that swims 200 miles upstream to its breeding grounds. For its next generation to take birth, the salmon must defy the river’s current. Each surge of your fins makes you stronger and fitter, leaner and happier. We get burdened with only much as we can carry. Of course, there are lulls in between, when we can rest for a while and enjoy the moment before the next obstacle gets thrown our way. That’s what life is all about. So what are you … dead fish or healthy salmon?
