Installing Officer's Message for Installation Bulletin - Rotary Club of Seven Hills Dharwad Dear Wonderful Members of RC Seven Hills Dharwad Congratulations on completing 12 years of glorious Rotary service as a full-fledged Rotary Club with only lady members. From 1989, when the COL voted to admit women into Rotary, the growth of Rotary as a family unit has become significant. The world of 2021 is very different from what it was in 1989 and Rotary has adapted itself to a changing world. Though RI values diversity, equity and inclusion, many Rotary Clubs have chosen to remain as single-gender member clubs for reasons best suited to their purpose. It was in 1995 that women became District Governors and soon Rl saw the induction of women into The Rotary Foundation in 2005, as Director of RI Board in 2008, as Treasurer of Rl in 2012, as Rl Vice President in 2013, as Vice Chair of TRF in 2019 and now in 2020 we have a lady as Rl President -nominee. Today approximately 27% of the members in Rotary are women. When in 1989 the RC of Duarte elected a lady as the first women President of a Rotary club, history was made and today we have strong leaders such as Rtn.Dr. Pallavi Deshpande taking up the challenges of being a club President with more vigour. The one characteristic found in almost all tremendously successful women like Rtn. Pallavi Deshpande is unlimited energy. A home maker, mother, sister, daughter, wife, professional expert, political leader and business head - You take up most of these roles at one time. You are a human dynamo of super energy. Today, women require avenues to accomplish more than what they have. Rotary International provides innumerable avenues where the best investment you can make is You. By joining this international movement, you have become a part of the committed family of Rotarians, which gives you unexpected opportunities which you never imagined were available to you for you to succeed in your chosen profession. The solution to our community's future is in each one of You.All great powers have symbols. Religions have their sacred symbols. Nations have their flags and symbols. Corporate bodies have their symbols and logos. The Rotary symbol is your own symbol of a positive power person, recognised in over 200 geographical regions. The fusion of your personal positive power with others fulfills their deep desire to serve and change lives in a variety of avenues which includes healthcare, environmental protection, eradication or poverty and illiteracy, freedom from hunger the list is endless.Your district, 3170, wants you to be a change agent in transforming your neighbourhood, your nation and to re-write history to show your compassion to the deserving and make them wake up to a new reality, a new experience and help them in some way...any way... using whatever talent and skills you have. You Can and You Should. I wish every success in every endeavour in the year 2021-22 when you are at the helm of affairs in your club .
