The Incredible Truth Why are some people bent upon thrusting war on the people? Poverty, Ignorance, Lust for Power and Ego (PILE) are some of the most important reasons why these people lose their sanity and become fanatic enough to wreck the atmosphere of Peace. The Rotary Foundation could be termed as the best Peace Keeping Force on this globe. It has no ulterior motives, service is its motto, it has God on its side and it blossoms hopes in the hearts of many. People as such don't recognize The Rotary Foundation as a Peace Keeping Force and it does not matter because our goal is not to promote ourselves but to promote happiness and Peace. Wars are not won by generals - they are won by ordinary soldiers. If we are to nurture Peace, we must have a strong ground force of ordinary people of the world. Fanatics, egotistical leaders and power hungry people will always exist but if we can tackle poverty, ignorance and hatred, we can ensure a powerful force that can fight the forces that hinders Peace. The Rotary Foundation is an organization of worldwide ramifications and a strong programme of person to person contact. It is this programme that promotes individual contacts that can remove misunderstanding, promote love and erase hatred that may lie dormant in some hearts waiting to be kindled into a fire that can destroy the world. Too many sufferers in our world speak the same language - language of silence - suffering in silence. If hope, love and understanding are showered upon these communities, happiness and tenderness will surface and thoughts of aggression can be erased. When people meet people and start knowing them, distrust dissolves, ignorance disappears and gives way to understanding and love. When hundreds of thousands partake in the programme of The Rotary Foundation it helps in promoting dialogues between communities and supports better understanding and improved relationships. Let us not forget that there is much to be done to take a step or two towards nurturing Peace. The Rotary Foundation, therefore, should come in here. It is now or never.
