THE SHOW MUST GO ON

Home Messages THE SHOW MUST GO ON

THE SHOW MUST GO ON To be happy is not too difficult but to make others happy is difficult and to be more happy than others is extremely difficult, because when comparison enters, dissatisfaction follow. Rotarians in fact all human beings ~ want to be happy and should be charged with the goal of making others happy - and these others" are not only the family members, friends and colleagues but all those who need some help in their lives that are teeming with problems. Of course, we cannot address all those problems but even one problem conquered will generate an immense amount of goodwill. Rotary depends on the goodwill because we have to enter their lives again to address some other problem. Our show must go on because we are bound by an oath to serve and many of the needy need repeated assistance. The Future of Rotary, therefore, depends on Rotarians. Rotarians need to understand the needs and evaluate the capabilities of Rotary to address the needs. Understanding the needs, therefore, must be a vital part of Service. You can borrow money, you can borrow manpower but you cannot borrow understanding. The leadership, therefore, must inculcate understanding to embrace all the members so that Rotary ensures a better community. The health of the community is vital for spreading cheer and that's our goal. We must let our imagination run riot to visualize the many ways in which we can serve. Knowledge is important to plan a project but imagination is more important. The contribution of the two - imagination and knowledge - is of infinite value. The grandeur and charisma of Rotary will provide a stimulus for imagination and commitment and sincerity will ensure success of any service project. In Rotary, we not only come together and plan for success but we grow together and ensure success. ASHOK MAHAJAN TRUSTEE - THE ROTARY FOUNDATION (2009-13) DIRECTOR - ROTARY INTERNATIONAL(2007-09)
