THE RIVER OF SERVICE MUST FLOW Have you ever observed the behaviour of birds in the face of adversity ? For days they make their nests, some time qathering materials brought fom far away, And when they are able to complete it and are ready to lay eggs the weather, or the work of humans, or some animals, destroys it and it falls to the ground- al that they have made with so much efforts Do they stop ? No way . They start building the nest over again until they have laid their eggs in the nest. Sometimes, and very often before the chicks are hatched , an animal a child or a storm destroys the nest once again, but this time with ther valuable contents. It certainly hurts to go back o begin again. Even so, the birds do. ot ever stop, they continue to sing and build, and keep singing and building D0 you some time get the feeling that your being in Rotary, your work, your activities are not matching to your dreams 7 Do you some time want 10 say enough, the effort on any project is not worthwhile ? ts all too much formes Are you tired of i all? Do you feel that the daily struggle on any project is a waste of time... your trust has been betrayed. your goals not reached ust as you were abou 10 get them. Yes! Life strikes you down some time, but you goon, say a prayer, put your faith in hope not darkness ? No matter what happens, do not shrink back but move forward. Lifes a constant challenge, but itis worthwhile to mostly who accept. Have. Not you seen Rotary in India working ll again when thing went wrong in our drive to Eradicate. Polio? The iver of service should flow freely and steadily. As any river, there may be scums, stagnancy and eddies -but ultimately over powering all hindrances, the river wil reach ts destination The river of senvice should be navigated by being completely good and helpful. This wil fulfil a sense of permanency in our mutual relations ith the community which wil stimulate permanent action and permanent co ~operation. No Rotary Club can, then find it difficult o work ith the community that needs help.
