Dear Friends,
It's the year 2016. We have completed half decade without reporting a single polio case in the country. I think there
is nothing left to be done from here. But wait, If I look at Nigeria which has reported three Polio cases and has been reclassified as a Polio endemic country very recently, it forces me to think again and again.
If a case is reported in India now many hearts will have that sinking feeling. The way forward is to avoid that is to remain prepared and keep working hard to Keep India Polio-free. We need to keep the masses aware about the new introduced changes implementation of Inactivated Polio Vaccine and need to Keep India Polio-free with continuous immunization.
Occasion like World Polio Day (October 24) is a great opportunity for all of us to create massive awareness throughout the country and share the immense work done by the Rotary. Six Rotary leaders are personally written to District leaders to create a buzz around World Polio Day. We must make sure that their words does not go unnoticed and motivate everyone to make this a big success.
