Why I Am in Rotary Why I Am in Rotary People often ask me, Why are you in Rotary? And every time, I pause with a smile because the answer comes not from my mind, but from my heart. For me, Rotary has always been more than an organization. It is a family of leaders bound by shared values, high ethical standards, and an unwavering commitment to serve humanity. It is always good to be in the company of people who believe in integrity in their vocation, in their personal life, and in the way they touch the world around them Before I joined Rotary, I could never have imagined being part of something so meaningful. Rotary opened doors to opportunities of service that I would never have found on my own from Polio Eradication campaigns, paediatric heart surgeries, cervical cancer awareness programs, education for the youth, to TB awareness and treatment. Each initiative reminded me that when we work together with compassion and purpose, miracles happen quietly one life at a time. Along the way, Rotary gave me a priceless gift friendship. I now have friends and fellow Rotarians, or as I like to call them, aquanauts, in almost every nook and corner of the world. Wherever I go, I find warmth, goodwill, and the unmistakable spirit of Rotary. Through Rotary, I have also come to understand what true leadership means. Leadership is not about power or position it is about service, humility, and the courage to make a difference. Rotary helped me learn it, live it, and share it. As I look back on nearly 53 years of active Rotary life, I feel deeply grateful. Every project, every handshake, every smile from someone we've helped they have all enriched my life beyond measure. And I can say with conviction that all this was. possible because I remained active and involved in Rotary. My message to every Rotarian is simple: be active, be engaged, and participate wholeheartedly. The more you give to Rotary, the more Rotary gives back to you in joy, in friendship, and in fulfillment. When you serve with sincerity and enthusiasm, you will discover, as I have, that Rotary is not just something you do it becomes a part of who you are. Let us all continue to live the Rotary motto of Service Above Self", and in doing so, make our world a little brighter every day.
