The Joy of Giving

The Joy of Giving A Message from PRID Ashok Mahajan My dear Rotarians, There is a quiet happiness that words cannot capture the happiness that comes. from giving. The smile of a child who can now walk, the relief in a mother s eyes when her child is healed, the gratitude in the heart of a stranger we may never meet this iis the true Joy of Giving. Each time we contribute to The Rotary Foundation, we take part in something far greater than ourselves. We become instruments of compassion. Our giving tums into food for the hungry, water for the thirsty, shelter for the homeless, and education for the forgotten. It turns tears into smiles and despair into hope. Through our Foundation, we have seen miracles happen. Polio once a haunting curse for millions now stands nearly erased from the face of the earth because Rotarians dared to give, and gave selflessly. Every vaccine drop, every hospital bed, every scholarship it all begins with one simple act: the act of giving. Friends, let us remember giving is not measured by the size of our contribution, but by the depth of our compassion. Some give with their wealth, others with their time, their talent, their voice. But every form of giving carries the same divine joy the joy that comes from knowing we have touched another life. As Rotarians, we are the custodians of this spirit. The world looks to us not just for what we do, but for who we are people of action, guided by heart. Atthe heart of Rotary lies our Foundation the wellspring of our service, the force that transforms generosity into lasting change. Each contribution, no matter how small, strengthens our ability to serve and keeps alive the promise of a better, more compassionate world.
