Rotary Clubs: Rising to the Call for Health and Peace Rotary Clubs: Rising to the Call for Health and Peace Rotary's Areas of Focus remind us that good healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Yet today. nearly half a billion people across the globe still lack access to basic healthcare a reality that continues to threaten dignity, stability, and peace in our communities. Across the Rotary world, our clubs are making a difference working where the need is greatest and delivering real solutions to real problems. We are: Facilitating pediatric heart surgeries for children from low-income families, giving them a second chance at life Leading awareness, screening, and vaccination programs for cervical cancer, a preventable disease still claiming far too many lives Supporting tuberculosis (TB) prevention and treatment, including the provision of nutritional aid essential to recovery Organizing regular medical camps, health check-ups, and blood donation drives Promoting mental health awareness, and strengthening community-based health systems Working closely with local authorities and hospitals to equip health centers and train healthcare workers Continuing our unwavering support for polio eradication, maternal and child health, and clean water access But despite all our efforts, the challenges are growing faster than the solutions. Non-communicable diseases are on the rise. Access to preventive care is stil uneven. The aftershocks of the pandemic, coupled with economic strain, are pushing more people into health insecurity.
