Respected the Chairperson Smt Tina Ambani Ji , the Distinguished Faculty members of this esteemed Hospital, Supporting Staff , Fellow Rotarians and Friends , There are no insurmountable tasks for the respected Ambanis when it comes to building the infrastructure for making India great.
For Rotary, there are no insurmountable tasks when it comes to serving humanity, especially children in the society. This has been demonstrated by our concerted efforts in eradicating polio from the country.
The Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Centre has been set up by the great Ambani family as a lifelong devotion to human welfare.
Their vision in setting up this facility has widened the boundaries of service and unites all citizens.
It is their ambition to bridge the gaps in Indian healthcare and the facility is now a highly advanced quaternary care facility with unique full-time specialist system and technology and treatment protocols benchmarked to leading global institutions.
In the quest to make India great, the Ambani family’s guiding philosophy has been perseverance and hope. In Rotary we understand that there is no such thing as lone struggle or lone hope.
The Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, which is ably guided by Smt Tina Anil Ambani as the Chairperson, has the distinction of being the first the integrated centre for children’s cardiac care in Western India.
She has demonstrated that when people come together as a team, share a dream and focus on reaching their goals together, they will accomplish what they set out to do.
Rotary, by partnering with this great institution for the past six years, has been able to save hundreds of children with various cardiac disorders. To believe in a child is to believe in the future. Through their aspirations they will serve the world.
It is said that if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. Shrimathi Tina Ambani, through the group’s CSR activities has being doing that.
Rotary’s CSR initiatives have been taking the resources of many major corporate bodies to various parts of the country and probably the Ambani CSR Foundation may wish to partner with Rotary in that area also.
The Rotary movement present in more than 200 countries, is closer to people of various faiths and beliefs because it is more flexible, more flowing and it is not a religion. It has openings, doors and windows and fresh ideas can always reach the deepest core of the heart of a Rotarian.
A philosopher once said, “When you have more than you need, build a longer table not a higher fence.” The Ambani family has been very generous in sharing their resources and expertise for the welfare of the community and those who have benefitted from their philanthropic activities know that very well.
From the time I joined Rotary, more than 45 years ago, I have been totally nourished by the positivity of the organisation, the donors and partners who have made us do what we have done to make the world a slightly better place.
Madam Shrimathi Anita Ambani, there is no language that exists for expressing our gratitude on behalf of the children the experts in your hospital have saved. By saving every child, you have wiped away the tears from the eyes of their parents, especially their mothers.
Our life in Rotary is not taken as a work but as a service of love towards humanity. Doing good each moment is the goal. The journey is the goal and each moment we are able to bring peace in the life of people it is moment for celebration.
When Rotarians take up a massive programme in the health and education sectors, we are aware of the magnitude of the work involved. We fight with our total energy and intensity. We may not reach our goals in the first few attempts, and it is not possible that we will always win. But we don’t feel defeated.
This was the energy that made us win over polio and with that confidence we have challenged ourselves to take up more humanitarian projects all over India in disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and childcare, basic education and literacy and economic and community development.
Our ultimate goal is peace and conflict resolution. As more and more donors are willing to use the expertise our volunteer members who come from diverse field, we feel that we can take the CSR activities of the organisations to greater lengths.
Our motto is Service Above Self and that means our love is pure, innocent, formless and when we give in love we don’t demand anything in return. When love is only a giving we are happy because someone has accepted our love. When we transcend borders for doing service, we realise that our journey is towards the infinite.
Everything in nature is for the others. Water from the rivers is for others, fruits from trees are for others, light from the sun is for others, fragrance from the flowers are for others and if you see what the common factor is, in nature life, existence and growth are meant for others. Thank you, Shrimathi Tina Ambani, for creating this wonderful healthcare infrastructure for others and letting Rotary partner your organisation and fulfilling the purpose of our movement. We can assure you that you will never be disappointed in our partnership. Thank you once again and look forward to see our association getting stronger and stronger in this endeavor.
