Good evening, fellow Rotarians, distinguished guests, and dear friends.
It is a pleasure and privilege to be present this evening as we celebrate another milestone in the journey of this wonderful club—one of the most vibrant, energetic, and fun-loving clubs in District 3142.
Before we look ahead, let us recognize the contribution of outgoing President Sameer. Leadership in Rotary is not measured merely by meetings conducted or events organized, but by the impact created and the relationships strengthened. Sameer has led with dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment, and he leaves behind a strong foundation on which the club can build further. Thank you, Sameer, for your service and leadership.
Today, we welcome President Anagha.
Anagha, your election is not an accident. Your fellow members have placed their trust and confidence in you. Among all the members of the club, they have chosen you to lead because they believe in your ability, integrity, vision, and commitment to Rotary values. Leadership in Rotary is both a great honour and a great responsibility.
One important reality of Rotary leadership is that a President does not have 365 days. By the time installations are over and the year gains momentum, you effectively have about 360 days or less. Therefore, start on Day One. Do not wait for the “right time.” The right time is now. The pace you set in the first 30 days often determines the success of the entire year.
Allow me to share a few thoughts.
First, plan thoroughly.
A successful Rotary year is planned before it begins. Set clear goals for service projects, membership growth, Foundation giving, public image, and fellowship. Review progress regularly and celebrate milestones.
Second, delegate wisely.
No President succeeds alone. The secret of successful leadership is assigning the right responsibility to the right person and then trusting them to deliver. When you empower your members, you create ownership and future leaders.
Third, think big and be visible.
Every club should undertake at least one signature project that is impactful, visible, and memorable. Let the community see Rotary in action. Visibility builds credibility, and credibility attracts support and members.
Fourth, grow membership.
Membership is the lifeblood of every Rotary club. Bring in people of character, competence, and commitment. Equally important, ensure that existing members remain engaged, valued, and inspired.
Fifth, support The Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Foundation transforms our dreams into reality. Every contribution, however small, becomes part of a larger effort that changes lives across the world. A strong Foundation means a stronger Rotary.
Sixth, build leaders, not followers.
Your greatest achievement will not be the projects you complete but the leaders you develop. Rotary’s future depends on the people we inspire today.
Seventh, remain humble and remain hungry.
Humble enough to listen, learn, and appreciate others. Hungry enough to seek new opportunities to serve and make a greater impact. The day we think we have achieved enough is the day we stop growing.
And finally, remember that Rotary is about people.
Projects are important, but friendships, fellowship, and caring for one another are what make Rotary special. If your members enjoy Rotary, they will stay, serve, and succeed.
Anagha, I have every confidence that under your leadership this club will continue to flourish and set new benchmarks in service and fellowship.
As you begin this exciting journey, I would like to leave you with a simple formula for successful leadership:
Be Bold – dream big, take initiatives, and never be afraid to explore new possibilities.
Be Disciplined – because goals are achieved not by intention alone, but by consistent action and execution.
Be Grateful – appreciate every member, every volunteer, every donor, and every opportunity to serve.
Be Humble – leadership is not about being above others; it is about bringing out the best in others.
Be Hungry to Do More – never become complacent. Continue to seek new opportunities to serve and create a greater impact.
Be Kind – because kindness strengthens friendships, builds teams, and makes leadership meaningful.
If you can embrace these values, success will naturally follow.
I wish you, your Board, and every member of this remarkable club a year filled with purpose, achievement, friendship, and joy.
May you lead with vision, serve with compassion, inspire with humility, and leave the club stronger than you found it.
Congratulations, best wishes, and good luck for a truly outstanding Rotary year ahead.
