GRATITUDES…….
CONGRATULATIONS TO SHEKHAR AND RASHI .
Who will be the ideal leader? This question has been debated from the times of Mahabharat.
Lord Krishna says that the ideal leader is a person with equanimity.
I have known SHEKHAR for many years and have always found him to be one such person.
He is a dispassionate leader, even-minded and not hungry for positions or power.
HE is an enlightened person who has his senses firmly under control, just like King Janaka .
His ability to work with all sections of the society will provide a platform for membership growth and development of Rotary world over.
It is said that a leader must have a desires to create the ground for action. The desire to lead must be coupled with an equally strong desire to serve. And Shekhar has these qualities in ample measure.
As a member of many RI committees, Shekhar has demonstrated his leadership skills. It is said that a leader is best when people barely know he exists.
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say, “We did it ourselves.” Those who have worked with Shekhar in various foras know this very well. He has guided their work without ever thrusting his views on anyone and the result has always been wonderful.
He is a man of vision, a man with clarity of thought and healthy ideas. Regardless of the circumstances, he has the power to show leadership. Whatever assignment he takes on he always plays it to his peak abilities
Shekhar knows how to work and influence people around him like a superstar. He always comes up with an instant strategy when needed to build a great team and becomes a person who everyone else admires.
As he takes the mantle of RI President in 2021, Shekhar will devise real world ways to defeat stress and build an unbeatable mindset, and unleash his full energy
It is said that leaders are always improving and raising their bar on how superbly they can perform and how quickly they can move. Every Rotarian must hatch on to leaders such as Shekhar, Raja Saboo, Kalyanda and other great people in our country and realise their true potential and become the true service oriented person they were built to become when they joined this movement
Dear Shekhar, THE SIZE OF YOUR SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED BY THE STRENGTH OF YOUR DESIRE, THE SIZE OF YOUR DREAM AND HOW YOU HANDLE YOUR DIS APPOINTMENTS.
AND SHEKHAR, LET OTHERS LEAD SMALL LIFE, BUT NOT YOU.
LET OTHERS ARGUE ON SMALL THINGS, BUT NOT YOU.
LET OTHERS CRY ON SMALL HURT, BUT NOT YOU.
LET OTHERS LEAVE THEIR FUTURE IN SOME ONE ELSE’S HANDS ,BUT NOT YOU.
Rotarians in India have high hopes on you which I am sure you will not dis appoint them because you know that LEADERSHIP IS NOT JUST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO BUT WHAT YOU CAN INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE AND EMPOWER OTHERS TO DO.
And finally to Shekhar and Rashi , Nayantara joins me in making a small prayer,
MAY THE STARS CARRY YOUR SADNESS AWAY,
MAY THE FLOWERS FILL YOUR HEART WITH BEAUTY,
MAY HOPE FOR EVER WIPE AWAY YOUR TEARS,
AND ABOVE ALL, MAY SILENCE MAKE YOU STRONG.
WE WISH ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU SHEKHAR AND OF COURSE RASHI NOT ONLY FOR YOUR TERM AS THE PRESIDENT OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL BUT IN EVERY ENDEAVOUR , TODAY, TOMORROW AND ALWAYS.
