TRF IS THE FOUNDATION OF TRUST
We have faith only when we are assured of the credentials of the Institute we support.
The Rotary Foundation is one such institute that has captured the trust of hundreds of thousands of men and women who support its noble cause and are assured of the most sincere and the most transparent response to their faith. The Rotary Foundation is not only the Foundation of Peace or the Foundation of Action but also the Foundation of Trust.
Rotarians and non- Rotarians have been supporting The Foundation with small or large contributions realizing that the objectives of The Foundation are in safe, capable and trustworthy hands and it works with an efficiency unmatched, integrity unquestionable and ideals unchallenged.
The funds of The Foundation are managed by 15 Trustees , who have high level of integrity and an equally high level of knowledge of the needs of the communities. The contributors know that the funds would be well spent for the cause they have contributed.
Our thrust areas such as Polio Eradication, are valid reasons to devote our resources to evolve success.
Every year, the collection of The Rotary Foundation is increasing. In spite of recessions, wars, conflicts and calamities, it is growing healthily. This is mainly because we have been successful in spreading awareness of the goals of The Foundation.
Rotarians and others who support it , have trust in Our Foundation that its goals are achievable, noble and worthwhile.
It is this trust that results in Rotarians contributing frequently.
It is this trust that should be harnessed into a force that will penetrate all Rotary families and promote better support.
Trust is always a two way travel.
If Rotarians trust The Foundation to accomplish what it spells out to do, The Foundation has trust in the Rotarians who are wedded to the ideals of Peace.
Stewardship is critical to the success of the Foundation. Our stewardship resources directly impacts the reputation of the Foundation among Rotarians and the general public. As stewards of The Foundation, Rotarians are responsible to donors to use donations appropriately.
A donor who understands that funds are used in an appropriate and responsible manner is more likely to give to the Foundation again to support projects.
Fortunately, our Foundation enjoys a stellar reputation. There are many Rotarians who do not have a clear understanding of the specific programmes and projects sponsored by the Foundation, yet they contribute because they recognize that the Foundation is accomplishing good in the world effectively and efficiently.
The Rotary Foundation is the best peace keeping force in the world. Peace is what our ultimate goal is. Peace can only enter where understanding blooms. Where people interact with people and understand what is blocking Peace.
The Rotary Foundation with its multiple programmes is capable of taking these few steps needed to result in a march in future. As proponents of The Rotary Foundation, it is our aim to spread the fragrance of Peace through the incense of information about what The Rotary Foundation is and what it hopes to achieve.
The world is crying out for Peace but is unable to do much because it does not have a vehicle which must be ridden by many to reach the goal.
The ride is going to be bumpy, a little un-comfortable and even at times slow but this vehicle has enough fuel, enough directional information and enough strength to be driven to the ultimate destination.
The future of The Rotary Foundation is, incidentally also the future of Rotary. Rotary exists and survives all challenges because it renders service.
Mega projects need mega bucks, mega know how and mega network. A Rotary Club, no matter how resourceful it is, can never fulfill the aspirations of the needy single handedly.
The Rotary Foundation is the vehicle that can carry such assistance to various corners of the globe.
Our fight against Polio is going to yield positive results soon. We will, then, embark upon another crusade to conquer another problem – a problem that has a world wide presence and needs global action.
Such mega programmes need not only mega financial support but also mega human resources. Our Foundation is capable of providing both.
The onus of responsibility of providing financial support rests on us. The world wide support our Foundation receives from Rotarians and non- Rotarians augurs well for our future. We must, however, continue to tap all resources to support our Foundation.
Peace is the ultimate goal of Rotary and The Rotary Foundation is the vehicle which will carry us to our destination.
The Rotary Foundation promotes peace through all its programmes and promotes the concept of love.
We have to promote all the subtle differences of love and only then we will discover new tools to combat war. You cannot discover new oceans if you stay near the seashore.
It is time to re-invest in The Rotary Foundation. The ambience of intolerance hatred, power craze, fanatic dogmas and universal unrest needs sane men and women to join a crusade for Peace. The Rotary Foundation is the only tool we have to try to make a difference.
Let us all, therefore, put our Trust in The Rotary Foundation and let us promote the concept of Peace with greater fervour, with greater confidence and with greater commitment. As we march, many will join us in our crusade and this march will swell into an army of Peace loving men and women, whose only aim is to fight for Peace. Let’s be the inspiration to all to achieve our ultimate goal – WORLD PEACE
