Speech for Installation of District Governor Dr. Maneesh Motwani
Guest of Honour Address
Venue: ISKCON Hall, Juhu
Good evening, respected dignitaries, fellow Rotarians, friends, and family,
It is a profound honor and privilege to stand before you this evening at the installation of our incoming District Governor, Dr. Maneesh Motwani.
To be in the esteemed company of dignitaries such as Trustee Bharat, PRID Raju, Trustee Gulam, and so many Past District Governors who have guided our district’s journey—it is both humbling and inspiring.
A heartfelt welcome and sincere gratitude to our Chief Guest, the distinguished Trustee of The Rotary Foundation. Your presence reaffirms the global strength and shared mission of Rotary.
Today is more than a ceremony—it is a celebration of leadership, continuity, and community spirit.
Dr. Maneesh Motwani, as you assume the responsibilities of District Governor, you bring with you a passion for service, strategic insight, and unwavering integrity.
Your wife, Dr. Mahek, whose partnership and support have been instrumental, stands with you this morning —  a reminder that leadership in service is often nurtured at home.
We are also honored to have with us your parents, Mr. Ramesh Motwani and Dr. Malti Motwani, whose values and example have clearly helped shape the man we respect and follow today.
In a world too often divided by borders, beliefs, and biases, Rotary remains a beacon of unity. Our initiatives—our collaborations, our shared purpose—are united by a single aspiration: to bridge divides and elevate humanity.
When we come together, we magnify our impact. When we collaborate, we become a force capable of transforming communities and lives.
But unity requires intentionality. It asks each of us to listen deeply, to include every voice, and to lead with compassion.
Central to this is our enduring motto: “Service Above Self.”
These three words carry immense power. They are not just a statement, but a way of life. It is about reaching beyond ourselves to support and uplift others.
Be it educating children, providing clean water, fighting disease, or building peace—our efforts demonstrate that when giving of ourselves, we receive even greater gifts: meaning, connection, and enduring impact.
As we step into this new Rotary year, I encourage each one of us—whether assuming new roles or continuing our service—to renew our commitment to this noble mission.
Let us not merely serve; let us lead with empathy, unite with courage, and always remember the purpose that brought us together: to make a positive, lasting difference.
Manish , may your year be marked by strength, success, and selfless service.
May your team rally behind your vision, and may you find profound joy in the act of giving.
To everyone gathered here this evening—thank you for your dedication, your passion, and your belief in the power of service.
Together, let our hearts beat for “Service Above Self,” in every life we touch.
