Speech
dignitaries, Rotary members, healthcare workers, and my dear friends,
It is truly an honour to join you today as the chief guest for this meaningful programme. Rotary has always stood for service above self, and today’s initiative reflects that spirit in a very special way.
The mission of Rotary here is clear and powerful — to make Thane a TB-free city.
Tuberculosis is not just a medical condition; it is a social challenge that affects families, livelihoods, and the well-being of our community. By creating awareness, encouraging early diagnosis, supporting treatment, and removing stigma, Rotary is helping pave the way for a healthier Thane.
One of the most important aspects of TB care is good nutrition. Proper and regular nutrition helps patients recover faster and respond better to treatment. The food packets we are distributing today are therefore not just packets of nourishment — they are packets of care, compassion, and solidarity. They carry a message: we are with you in your journey to recovery.
I want to place on record my sincere appreciation for the Rotary members, the medical teams, volunteers, partners, and generous contributors who have made this initiative possible. Your dedication reminds us that when a community comes together with a common purpose, remarkable things can be achieved.
To all the patients present here, I want to say this with warmth and conviction: TB is completely curable. You are strong, you are capable, and you are not alone. The entire community stands behind you, supporting your full recovery.
Let us all continue to work hand in hand so that one day soon, we can proudly say: Thane is TB-free.
Thank you.
