At the outset I take this opportunity on behalf of myself, RIHF , Rotary India’s Covid Task Force and all the 160,000+ Rotarians of India to express our very sincere gratitude to the representatives of United Way of Bangaluru Action Covid -19 Team Swasth Alliance For their generosity and confidence towards Rotary in India by providing 50,000 Oxygen Concentrators 12,000 Oxygen Cylinders5000 BIPAPS 100 PSA Plants 50,000 Oxymeters To be utilized in COVID prevention activities in India .It’s indeed a very fine gesture which we wholeheartedly appreciate. Sir , Rotary is the service organization which is in existence in India for over 100 years . We the Rotarians have been providing service in different areas of focus. We are spread in every nook and corner of the country through 4000+Rotary Clubs . Our work in polio eradication in India is all well known and appreciated by all in the world . India is Polio Free for the last many years which was possible due to the joint efforts of all the Rotarians. This achievement was not due to any single Rotarians, not due to some Rotarians but it was due to all the Rotarians of the country who put their right foot forward to see that every child in the country gets 2 drops of polio. As regards the COVID-19 Pandemic is considered let me inform you sir, in the beginning we felt our job was only to create awareness, Social mobilization and advocacy. But seeing the scenario we got involved in its totality in practically every aspect of the program . We wish to inform you sir in the last a year or so we have …. Provided hundreds and thousands of Beds to Covid affected people by establishing many hospitals in different parts of the country. Made thousands and thousands of Oxygen Concentrators available to all in need. We have installed many Oxygen plants in different hospitals in many places in the country. We have established Free Vaccination centers to vaccinate eligible people practically in every part of the country. It will not be out of place here to make a mention that we must have vaccinated over 350,000 persons through different centers. To maintain the cold chain we have provided Medical Refrigerators to the authorities. We have established Call Centers in different parts of the country wherein our Rotary Volunteers provide information like availability of beds , Oxygen Concentrators , medicines etc We have provided two big vehicles fully air conditioned and insulated to T N Government to carry vaccines to the tune of 4.5 million from the central points to final points . We have provided tons and tons of dry rations and cooked meals to millions of people. The list is endless. .. We can assure you sir , with your support we will certainly able to help and protect many more people more effectively. You can rest assured sir that it will be our endeavor and sincere for that matter to see that all the medical equipments provided by you will not only be distributed properly to all the hospitals but we will monitor the utilization and effectiveness of these equipments . We hope if there is third wave we are better equipped to handle it and save the lives of many .
